You are our key link in the process of patent procedures
What you will be doing as a Formalities Officer
In this position, you will work within a small team of patent attorneys and other formalities officers. Together with the team, you will be responsible for the administrative and organisational handling of all occurring matters in the process of obtaining and maintaining a patent.
You look after and monitor the patent filing process. Within this process, you ensure all formalities are met during the granting procedure. Formalities in patent procedures exist of collecting and sending file documents including powers of attorney, transfer deeds, patent texts, drawings and priority documents.
You also submit the final applications and send orders to the official bodies and agents abroad. You also register and monitor deadlines. You ensure patent data is processed correctly in digital files. You enjoy maintaining contacts with local clients, agents and authorities, as well as abroad.
You support companies in protecting their inventions, knowledge and intellectual property. You actively support patent attorneys in managing and developing their patent portfolio. You work closely with your team to achieve the best results.
How to become a Formalities Officer? Training & education
