What you will be doing as a US Patent Attorney/Agent

As part of our US practice team you will assist in growing our reputation as a firm with special expertise in this area. You will advise both external and internal clients in relation to US applications and the US system to better protect their intellectual property, knowledge and ideas and actively help them manage and develop their US and global patent portfolio.

To become an all-round advisor to our clients we will also train you to become an European patent attorney.

 

Your professional qualities

Besides a completed university degree in Science or Engineering. specifically in technical areas related to Biotech, Pharma or Chemistry, you recognize yourself in the following competencies:

 

  • You are admitted or eligible to be admitted to the US patent bar (have a technical degree and are a US citizen);
  • You have an investigative mind and strong analytical skills. You are also creative, client-focused, stress tolerant and accurate.
  • You have excellent oral and writing skills and preferably competence in at least one foreign language.
  • Preferably, you have at least two-three years of experience as a Patent Attorney or trainee with experience in drafting and prosecution. Litigation experience is a plus.
  • Preferably, you have a law degree and are barred in at least one US state.
