Communication Specialist/Advisor

  • Managing large projects is familiar territory for you
  • You don’t shy away from challenges and can quickly adapt
  • You are able to advise both the team and the business teams

NLO offers a position for an independent, all-round communication professional within the Marketing & Communication (M&C) department in The Hague. Do you have experience managing (marketing) communication projects in a professional services environment and know how to work in an inspiring way with a team of motivated colleagues? Then we are looking for you.

What will you do

As a communication advisor, you will jump aboard a moving train. Together with the compact and enthusiastic M&C team and external agencies, you will be responsible from A to Z for both internal and external communication projects, working closely with stakeholders such as the Management Team, HR, and Sector Leads. This includes shaping and delivering messages from the Board of Directors, as well as supporting NLO’s business teams with their diverse marketing and business development activities.

Your profile

You are used to quickly understanding the dynamics of an organization in your role as advisor and have strong organizational sensitivity. You distinguish main issues from details and bring a decisive approach to projects. You keep results and objectives sharply in focus and know how to motivate others to contribute.
You understand the needs of our internal and external clients and go the extra mile to provide excellent service. You communicate openly, build strong relationships, and actively contribute to a positive and effective team dynamic.
You are a pleasant and approachable person who, with humour and genuine interest in others, easily connects with new colleagues.

Requirements

In addition to a completed Bachelor’s degree in Communications you have:

  • substantial work experience (at least 5 years) in a similar role, preferably in professional services;
  • experience with (project) management;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English (NLO’s working language);
  • preferably knowledge of MS Dynamics.

Your working conditions - what do we offer?

You can expect excellent employment conditions:

  • A monthly salary of €3,700 – €5,300 (depending on knowledge and experience);
  • An attractive bonus scheme;
  • A good pension plan;
  • Minimum of 26 vacation days;
  • Commuting allowance;
  • Various training and development opportunities;
  • A comprehensive onboarding program;
  • Prospect of a permanent contract.

This position is for 28 to 35 hours per week. The distribution of hours is open for discussion, with some flexibility. The M&C team is based at NLO’s office in The Hague.

You will have a pleasant workplace in our modern office in New Babylon, right next to The Hague Central Station. NLO offers a hybrid work model, combining time at the office and working from home. We regularly organize office drinks, offer an extensive lunch buffet (at a small fee), and provide chair massages during work.
